AUCKLAND-GISBORNE RAILWAY.

A meeting of the council of the Auckland Railways League was held yesterday to meet Mr W. Gaudin, the secretary of the Gisbornc Railway League, who was instructed by his League to convey to the Auckland League certain resolutions passed by the Gisbornn League expressing tbeir desire to co-operate with the Auckland and sister leagues at Waihi. Katikati. Bay of Plenty, and Opotiki, etc, in order that the important work of the Anckland-Gisborne railway might be pushed on vigorously. After discussion of the matter, it was moved by Mr Tewsley. the vice-president of the Auckland League, and seconded by Mr Leo Myers, of the council. "That a conference he held on the 31st May, at 3 p.m., of all the Railway Leagues concerned in the construction of the Auck-land-Gisbornc railway line, and that invitations be sent out accordingly to the branch leagues asking them to nominate their delegates, and that the Auckland members of Parliament be also asked to attend the meeting."
