■"'■'■'"•" ir i ■" ■ CITY COUNCIL EMPLOYEES. The A.C.C. employees held their first picnic oh Saturday last at Pine island. A most enjoyable time was spent, the "weather - bethg fine the whole There were: over 700 present. Music was- provided by Impey's Band. "The Brewers" from the Opera' House' also caused a . good Seal of amusement. -There- were the usual side shows, and there was also an abundance ot fruit, lollies, biscuits-, end toys for the children.' The picnic was voted a great success, thanks to the energetic committee and secretary. There were also present the Town Clerk (Mr H. W. Wilson), Crs; _5. A. Glover and C. J. Parr. His Worship the Major was unavoidably absent. A lengthy programe of sports was gone ; through, the results of which were as follow:—; 100 yds Handicap (single men).—F. Jarvls 1, G. Moore 2.
