The Hon. 3. D. Ormond's team, Zimmerman, Nobility, Lyrist .Ito. and Medallist, in charge of Stewart Waddell, and Marguerite, William X, and Tambourlna, all of which claim engagements at the A.R.C. Autumn Meeting, arrived by the Rarawa from New Plymouth this morning.

ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

It was cold and bleak ror training operations at Ellerslie this morning, but fortunately the rain held off until nearly all the horses had worked, when It fell in torrents and continued throughout the breakfast interval, but cleared" about 9 o'clock, and trainers were able to get their second strings exercised. The outside of the course proper was open for the first time, and the bulk of the work was done there. The track was heavy, but some interesting work was witnessed. Lady Annie, alone, was the first to commence, running a mile well within herself in 1.53 8-5. Celtic had Loch Blue as a companion over four furlongs, run In 54 3-ssee. Annette finished a couple of lengths in front of Avalanche at the end of seven furlongs, run in 1.37. Annette walked a trifle short on pulling up, but her trainer is confident of her seeing the post. Delania had three lengths' advantage of King Paul at the end of a four-furlong spurt, covered in oosec. Ironmould ran once around, Metallist bringing him home the last five furlongs in 2.11. Ironmould is coming on fast. Lady Nannie, alone, covered seven furlongs in 1.39. Te Aroha was going easier than Loongana when they reached the end of four furlongs, which was run in 54sec. Landlock and Leonator, both ' ridden out, finished together at the finish of seven furlongs In 1.36. Noteortui, alone, covered six furlongs in 1.235. Chief Steward got a break on Sir Rupert at the start of a fourfurlong sprint, which he maintained •to the finish, covering the distance in 54 3-5 sec. Oninti finished in front of Waltati over five furlongs, run in 1.10. Gladstone, liohoro, and Conductor were companions over a similar distance, run In the same time, the two former finishing together three lengths in front of Conductor. Rose Madder, Bonomiana, and Trephine were associated in a six-furlong gallop, the two former being on even terms at the finish, with Trephine four lengths away. The distance was run in 1.24 1-5. Isolt was restricted to half-pace work. Strathavon and Kilderkin galloped seven furlongs In 1.41, finishing abreast. Carl Rosa, alone, moved in good style over six furlongs, run in 1.22 3-5, the fastest of the morning. Geordie was going freer than Waipuna and Master Delaval at the finish of seven furlongs, run in 1.35. Loftus spurted three furlongs in 41 8-ssec. Aria te Uru had Uenuku as a companion over five furlongs, run in 1.10 2-0, the pair finishing on even terms. After breakfast I.unetta, alone, galloped five . furlongs in 1.12 3-5. Tantry Girl spurted four furlongs In 58 1-ssec. Nervine, with a light weight up. had about half a length's advantage of Paritutu, with Cyrano a couple of lengths away, over seven furlongs, in 1.37. Paritutu, which had a big load in the saddle, well throughout Khama ran a mile and n-half. Girton Girl bringing her home the last seven furlongs, which was run in 1.45 2-5. Lucrece and Mataura were together at the end of four furlongs, run iv 55 l-ssec. Inglis was ridden Tight out -to beat Vivandel over five furlongs in 1.12 3-5, Pylades. alone, running the same distance of .ground in 1.11. Duart was going easier than Apollinaris at the. end of four furlongs, run in 54 3-5, a distance which Paroqnet took 59 sec to cover. A Dumber of others were also out and did useful wort.
