"LIVING LONDON." "~™~"~~

The "Living London" entertainment attracted a large audience to the Opera House last evening. A large number of excellent films, were exhibited, those of London causing special interest. The arrival of the New Zealand footballers was depicted, the film showing the men as they descended from the mail boat to the ferry steamer. ■ Another performance will be given to-night, and to-morrow afternoon there will be a matinee. if

"THE EARL AND THE GIRL."

Mr John F. Sheridan promises that in "The Earl and the Girl" the Auckland public will be treated to the brightest, most sparkling and attractive programme of its kind yet presented to his patrons. He brings with him on this occasion a first-rate musical comedy company that is given admirable scope in the crisp drolleries, pretty solos, taking choruses, and effective ballets. "The Earl and the Girl" possesses considerably more merit than most of the musical comedies which have been placed before theatregoers of recent times, for there is a distinct theme, humorous to a degree, that can be recognised from the mass of "incidentals" interwoven, and it has been recommended as a thoroughly healthy, laughter-raising performance of a nature well calculated to please the tastes of those who love bright music, wedded to witty story and brilliant dressing and scenic effects. "The Earl and the Girl" is mounted and dressed on an elaborate scale. The ballets form a very pleasing feature of the performance. The orchestral work is of a highly meritorious order throughout. On Easter Monday a matinee will be held, at which children will be admitted to dress-circle and stalls at halfprice. The box-pian is at Wiidmanand Areys and day sales at Theatre Cafe*
