MATCH AGAINST AUCKLAND. AtrCKLANDERS AT THE WICKETS. The Melbourne Cricket Club's team commenced their first match in New Zealand to-day, when they met an eleven representative of Auckland. The weather was unfavourable for cricket. .Steady rain fell through the night and morning, lmt cleared off before noon somewhat, though it was soft. Light f-howers fell through the afternoon. Schmoll are oflirinting as umpires. Harldon, the Auckland skipper, won the toss, and elected to bat. Lusk and HeniUH opened the Auckland innings.
