Jenkinson v. the New Zealand "'Times" Company was granted by Kis Honour the Chief Justice today. In giving judgment His Honour said that the case was on the border line, and his first impression was that it had not been crossed by the plaintiff, but he now thought that as the difficulty of finding employment and the position of journalists generally in obtaining employment must be raised in assessing damages, and witnesses called to speak to these matters, the evidence must be expert evidence. The Legislature had assumed that if expert knowledge was required a special jury was more likely to have or to gain euda knowledge than, a common jniy.
