A young man, 17 years of age, named Francis John Drinnan, son of Mr John Drinnan, a settler residing at Kaukapakapa, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital this afternoon, suffering from gun-shot wounds in his right arm. it appears that young Cririhan, while out shooting, rested the butt of his gun on a log, from which it slipped, and upon striking the ground the giin exploded, with the result that the charge caught him below and above the right elbow, badly lacerating the muscles of the arm. The injuries will necessitate his retention at the Hospital for two or three
