There was a very large attendance, including the - Governor-General (Lord Northcote), Sir; Reginald Talbot, and Sir C. Bedford. ! There' was a fine field for the Caulfield Cnp, for which Torah held his positiou as favourite till the last. The winner, however, turned np in. the New Sooth Wales marc, Marvel Loch, -who won her rsrce in excellent style. Passing the judge's box the order was Troytown, Hatteras, Maniapoto, anil Torah. Going out of the straight Maniapoto ran into second place, with ToraJi third. Passing Davis" the order was Elvo, Harmony and Troytown. Along the back Hatteras was second. At the railway side Harmony took command, with Marvel Loch, Torah, "Waroo, and Scot Free moving forward. Marvel Loch led into the straight from Waroo and Soot Free. The latter fell at the distance. Marvel Loch came on full cf running, and won by two lengths from Warroo, who beat Torah by four lengths. Emir wes fourth 1 , then came Oviutiale, Proceedor, Elvo, Harmony, Dantzic. Marmont, and Rosemead, the back division consisting of Napoleon, Position, and Troytown. Time, 2.35}. The Wyuna Steeplechase, of 200 soys, about two miles three furlongs and 80yds. —Mr Alister Clark's eh g Sweeper, aged, by Ascot—Veracity, 10.13, 1; Mr A. Miller's b g Error, aged, by Mistake—Lady Peri, XL3, 2; Mr E. A. Connolly's b g The General, aged, by Tarcoola—Nameless, 12.7, 3. Six others ran. Betting: 7 to 4 against Sweeper. Loddon and Advisor fell at the first fence. Sweeper maintained a good position andi won by; *>ur lengths. Time, 4.49 1-5.

In a desperate finish between Japhet and Roycroft, the latter gained the verdict on the post. Time, 1.l Si. The Moora Welter Handicap of 200sovs, one mile.—Mr Jas. Cock's b g Pendower, 3yrs, by Eminence— P. 1 Vernon, ,7.9, 3. Nineteen others ran. Betting: 4 to 1 against Circuit. At the distance Dandalla was in front, when Circuit challenged, and after a good finish, the latter won by half a length. Time, 1.44.
