MAN IN A BEDROOM.
YOUNG LADY'S STARTLING EXPERI
ENCE
The youngest daughter of Mr. Arthur Boult, of the A.M.P. Buildings, Queenstreet, had a startling experience last night, a man being found asleep on the floor of her bedroom beneath the bed. Miss Boult had retired for the night, when something caused her to suspect that someone was secreted in the room. Naturally frightened., she obtained a light and looked under the bed, being startled to find a man lying there. He had apparently been asleep, and woke up with a resounding snore. Miss Boult ran out into the passage, followed by the intruder, who was quickly seized by Mr. Boult. who came to his daughter's assistance. The man was quiet, and told his captors that he meant no harm. He was kept talking while the police were summoned, and in the course of a-quar-ter of an hour an officer arrived in response to an urgent telephone message, iho intruder bein? taken into custody. He must have entered the bedroom early in vne evening, and laid under the bed for at least three hours before his discovery. The* extraordinary affair had a sequel this morning in the Police Court, when a young man named Willinm Harrison was charged with being a vagrant, haying been found by night without lawful excuse on Mr. Boult's premises. Chief Detective Marsnek. in applying for a remand until Monday week, stated that Miss Boult found the man underneath ' her bed after she retired. As he was not quite certain whether Harrison's intentions were robbery, or whether he went there in a drunken'state, he wished to have time to rilake inquiries. Harrison was. therefore, remanded in custody for eight days.
