The chairman stated that there was every prospect of the Ridge Road being formed for a considerable distance, something approaching two miles, as they had a promise of assistance from the Government, also arrangements with the Mission and the Aitken's Trust, when completed, he said, there was no doubt whatever but that it would form one of the prettiest drives round Auckland ' The views from same would be unsurpassed, there would be full views of the upper reaches of the Manukau, of the beautiful Mangere flats, and mountains opposite, the whole of the Manukau right to the Heads, the Tltirangi Ranges, Waiuku, Otahuha. and Onehunga. etc, in the distance on the one side, and. of course, the whole of Auckland and its surrounding suburban districts on the other, with always plenty Of fresh sea air. At least, he said, you could compare it to a panoramic drive, as well as opening up large blocks of land.
