BUSH FIRES RELIEF FUND

SYDNEY, this day.
The Lord Mayor's Relief Committee report that there have been no applications from sufferers by the bush fires wanting immediate relief. BtfFECT OF INTERSTATE SHIPPING AGREEMENT. (Received 10.6 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Arrangements for the readjusting of thn inter-State shipping service, in accordance with the agreement recently adopted by the five principal companies, ■re approaching completion. A number of steamers have already been withdrawn or are about to be, and a large number of officers, engineers and men have been thrown idle. It is also feared that there will be a fusion of the shore staffs, necessitating further reductions. The situation is causing much unrest in labour circles.
