Reuters Agency reports that no less than three attacks were made on three days running upon General Trepoff, exChief of Police of Moscow, who narrowly escaped assassination while travelling to St. Petersburg. It is stated to be Trepoff who was chiefly responsible for the recent brutalities of the police at Moscow. ST. PETERSBURG, Jan. IS. Owing to the political unrest the University of Moscow has been closed. Bomb outrages are now of daily occurrence, and are occasioning the officials the greatest anxiety. A bomb penetrated the residence of the Governor of- Smolensk, whilst another was fired in the police quarters at Poshe_;on.
