AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —I am very much surprised that practically nothing is being done with regard to the visit of the Australian cricket t.earn to our shores early in Feb-; ruary. lb. Dunedin, oiie of the last centres the team visits, the Association have already made arrangements for the shopkeepers to alter their customary half-holiday on Wednesday to Friday, and alsq for the Railway Department to rnn excursion trains. I sincerely trust the local association will make a move' in this direction before it is too late. The privilege of seeing the brilliant and versatile Trumper, Duff, Hill, and Noble at the zenith of their fame would be appreciated by many an enthusiast outside of Auckland. If the local association go about things in the right way, the match will, beyond doubt, prove a financial success. Apropos of this, I would suggest that the locals play 18 men. We might in that ease see some of our redoubtable visitors bat twice. —I am, etc., PARNELLITE.
