Deloiacle, writing in "Le Matin" on the position of the Japanese in French In Jo-Chin: i, says that the recent exposure shows that the Japanese have made a bold and unscrupulous attack, and that France ought to prepare for maritime defence in the Far East. [What the ■"unscrupulous attack , ' refers to, unless it is the securing of trade referred to in a previous cable, it is impossible to say.
