GARDEN PARTY AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

I The beautiful grounds at Government House locked their best yesterday afternoon, when a large number of citizens assembled upon the invitation of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Plunke*. Superb weather favoured the. fwctign. The- guests were received on arrival at the entrance to the lawn, and after presentation, distributed themselves in groups for a pleasant chat, while Eady's band played a number of musical selections. Tea was served in the main hall and dining-room, and in the course of the afternoon Lord and Lady Plunket and the A.d!c."s did their utmost to make the gathering sociable and pleasant, efforts in which they were entirely successful.
