MESSRS. HIPKINS & COUTTS' NEW STORES.

The number of large warehouses in Customs-street is steadily increasing, and Messrs Hipkins and Coutts, wine and spirit merchants, have just entered their fine new three-storied warehouse and bottling stores in Customs-street East. The building has a frontage of 66ft, and a depth of 100 ft, giving a very large floor area. Lighting and ventilation have been given careful attention, and the general appearance of the building is well in keeping with the imposing nature of a business street of which Aucklanders are proud. Messrs Hipkins and Coutts are the sole Auckland agents for James Speight and Co., Dunedin, and this firm's popular ales are bottled on the ground floor, where there is every appliance for clean and careful handling of the bottles. In the front is a well arranged and handsome suite of offices, at the side of which is the cart entrance. A lift has been installed to communicate with the upper floors, one of which will be used by Messrs Hipkins and Coutts to store wines and spirits.
