His :Excellency the Governor paid 8 visit to the Colonial Ammunition Company's works at Mount Eden this afternoon. On Satcrday Lady Plunket visited the Young Women's Christian Association rooms' on Saturday, and seemed much pleased with what she saw. The Governor leaves Auckland to-mor-row for Rotorna. where he is paying his first official visit. Lady Plunket and the vice-regal suite will accompany him. His Excellency returns to Auckland on Saturday next, leaving Rotorua in time to pay a visit to Cambridge. On "January 21 the Governor will present to the winners the St. John's Ambulance Association's certificates. The ceremony will be at Government House. On the 26th His Excellency leaves for the South. He goes direct to Invercargill to lay the foundation stone of the new Town Hall there. On his way back to Christchurch he will call-in at Oamaru to unveil a monument erected to the memory of fallen troopers, and he will also pay the town a further visit in February, when he ■will present to the Oamaru North school cadets the South Island shield, which they have woaHis Excellency has taken a house in the Cathedral City, and will remain there some time with his family before returning to Wellington.
