(To the Editor.) Sir, —The members of the Commission have made a bad start by deciding not to admit the public to their deliberations. I-t this uot a public inquiry, and is not the hospital a public institution? Who then is better entitled than the public to be present? The fact that the accommodation is small is no answer, as there ar-' plenty of halls in Auckland suitable for tho purpose. The Costley Home inquiry was opeu to the public, and so are all other public inquiries.
