THE RUSSIAN STRENGTH.
ESTIMATED AT 226,000. HARASSING MOVEMENTS CONTINUE. (Received 9.29 a.m.) LONDON, October 18. Tlie Daily Telegraph says that Gen. K-nx-opatkin's total strength at the Sha River, including engineers and other corps, numbers 230,000 troops. Field-Marshal Oyama estimates tba Russian strength in the recent battle at 200,000 infantry, 26,000 cavalry, and 950 guns. Generals Oka and Nodzu are cooperating ia. the pursuit on the ■west, and successfully harassing the i.ttiEsicns. The Russians make counter attacks, but they are very costly to themselves. The guns captured by the Japanese at Nanshan Hill were used by General Oka at Limantun, on the Sha River.
