THE GOVERNOR.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday." The Governor visited the hospital and Christ's College to-day. and in the evening was entertained by the citizens at a conversazione. He will leave to-morrow morning for Dunedin. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The vice-regal party left for Dunedin by special train at. 7.41 this morning. ASHBURTON, this day. The reception of the Governor was witnessed by a large crowd. Volunteers composed a guard of honour, and the County Band was in attendance. The Mayor presented an address of welcome on behalf of the citizens, and the Governor suitably replied. Three cheers were given for the Governor, Lady Plunket, and the Premier. TIMARU, this day. On passing through Timaru to-day on his way to Dunedin, Lord Plunket was presented by the Mayor, Mr. Craigie, with an address of welcome.
