P.?\f Re T -,v nd ¥ rS and the Rev. Mr Jelhe return from Rotorua today. Mr A. L. Muir, editor of the "Poverty Bay Herald, is amongst the visitors to Auckland at the present time. Mr and Mrs E. C. Forbes intend to leave Auckland on August 29 for Manila, where Mr Forbes has an appointment with the J. G. White" Electric Tram Co. Messrs Ranson, Winstone and Bloomfield were appointed by the Remuera Road Board to represent it at the conference of local bodies on the Grfater Auckland question. Mr E. Gerard, Official Assignee in Auckland, is again prostrated with a serious attack of spinal neuralgia- following his late severe attack of influenza, but it is hoped that he will be about again shortly. The members of the local police force presented ex-Chief Detective Grace with a gold watch in recognition of his long and distinguished connection with the force. Mr Grace is now retired on a pension after more than 30 years active service, for the most part in the Auckland district.
