Statement by Mr. Brodrick. LONDON, August 13/ In the House of Commons Mr. Brddrick, Secretary'of State for India; announced that Great Britain would not appoint a resident at Lhasa, but that the Government was determined to make the ■■ British name respected, and to protect the. . frontier.
