On the occasion of the presentation of prizes in connection with the Paeroa Methodist Church, which took place on Thursday evening, Mr. James Reed, who I has been superintendent cf the Sundayschool for some years past, but who has now removed to Waihi. was presented j on behalf of the teachers and scholars j with a handsome dressing-case, by ->x. Tetley, assistant superintendent. : In Knox Church Schoolroom last night, Mrs Maxwell, who has been leader of the church choir since the commencement of the church, and is now leaving for Napier, was entertained at supper by the choir, and during an interval of the proceeding was ! presented by Miss Annie Gilmour. on behalf of the choir, with soJid silver salt cellars, etc Speeches regretting Mrs Maxwell's departure were' mad° by the church organist.
