IRISH LAND ACT.
Decision as to the Appropriation of Bonuses. (Received 7.40 a.m.) LONDON, December 22. Mr. Justice Ross, in the Law Judges' Court at Dublin, decided that it was contrary to the intention of the authors of the Land Act of 1903 that the tenant for life shouh'. appropriate the bonus to his own use, but that he must hold it also for all others who took land under settlement. The decisio'. removes in the cases of many landlords the strongest inducement to sell. An amending Act is not probable without Nalionali.it co-operation.
[Under the latest Irish Land Act provision was made for bonuses to landlords lo Induce them to sell. The above message apparently means that In the ease of entailed land bonuses are to go with the estate, and that they are not to be made nse of by the life tenant. 1
