ANNUAL MEETING.
The Church of Christ, Ponsonby road, held its annual tea and public meeting last evening in the chapel, comer of Pollen st. The large gathering was presided over by Mr Chas. Watt, the evangelist of the church, and the programme was thoroughly enjoyed. The secretary's report showed that the various agencies were all in a condition of healthy activity, and Mr Frank Evans was complimented on his neat and comprehensive statement of the work done. Mr Nelson Baguall read the treasurer's statement, which showed the financial aspect to be likewise exceedingly favourable. A very pleasing function was a presentation to Mr Wm. Vickerv, who for nigh 411 years has been actively connected with the church, and for 15 years has, in a highly creditable manner, filled the office of cider. Mr John Scott, in a neat speech, made the presentation, and. read the address setting forth the church's appreciation of Mr Victory's work. Mrs Vickery was likewise the recipient of a handsome silver teapot. Besides various items by an excellent choir, under the leadership' of Mr Wm. Marson, there were a solo. Miss Baguall; duet, Misses Hall; recitations, Misses Morton, < arnahan, and Hibburt. Miss H. McDerniott and her staff of assistants were thanked few the splendid tea they provided.
