A few pounds of good stone, showing broad dabs of gold, were on view to-day at the office of this company. The stone was taken from No. 4 stope. MAT QUEEN EXTENDED. In the drive both branches of the reef are now together, and they form a body of stone averaging 10 inches in thickness, and when broken down a few strong colours of gold were sien during the wctk. The reef in No. 3 stope is about one foot in width, and on breaking down some strong colours of gold were seen. In No. 4 stope the reef averages 15 inches, and shows strong dabs and colours of gold freely. The quartz coming to hand troin this stope at present is a decided improvement on any that has been won from the stopes for some time. The reef in both stopes is of a most promising appearance, and carries a good class of mineral in the stone for gold, and tue country encasing the same is all tnat could be wished for. KUBUNUI. The two men put on to drive- from the top of No. 2 rise met with old woi kings. At this point there has been a junction with lodes, one about six inches wide, apparently not having been worked, the otuer has been wurkeU, but not very high. When connection is effected with the crosscut from No. 1 rise, the other leader will be driven upon to test its value, and a start made on the lode in the main level, where the rich mineralised ore was met with.
