The manager reports that the reef In the fourth stopo west is about 10 inches wide, and when breaking down a few colours of gold were seen. In the fifth stope west the roof is a good, compact body of stono, averaging 2 feet in width and carrying some excellent mineral indications. A change has taken place, the sandstone being pinky, and full of bright mineral veins, which in this country is considered the best belt of sandstone for a reef to make gold In. lit the fourth stope east the reef is one foot wide, and showed colours of gold when broken down. In the second stope east the reef i averages 2 feet in thickness, aud when broken down strong colours of gold were seen. A few nice dabs of gold are also seen iv the stone broken from the leading stopes in the haugiugwall of the reef.
