At. the S-M. Court Margaret Tomkins. an old-age pensioner, charged with obtaining a larger pension than siie was entitled to by falsely representing the value of property owned by her, was ordered to refund .10. the amount of pension paid, and C_ 4/ costs- Mr Greenfields, S.M.. pointed out that _he had rendered herself liable to six months' imprisonment. Tlie accused's property was valued at i_4lS by the Government valuer two years ago. and in the deelarai.ioi. my.de on applying for the pension accussec] assessed it at £200.
