FIRE.
TRAMWAY BUILDING AND PLANT DESTROYED.

DUNEDIN, this day
The Mornington cable tram sheds, engine and plant were wholly destroyed by lire this morning at vbout three o'clock. It is supposed the tire started in the oliice. It burnt the adjoining three houses, and also a store facing the town belt, occupied by Mr Lowden. tramway engineer. Mr G. W. Grig"', police constable Power, and Airs Weir. Practically nothing wass saved. The Mornington Council -were about to take over the tram company.
