Predictions as to the unlikelihood of women availing themselves" of the new Franchise Act are not beingverified (says a Sydney telegram of December 28). So far as the results show there is a heavy preponderance of the new voters in almost every electorate.' St. Leonards gives a total of 3530 iyomeu against lewer than iiOOO men. The Willoughby electorate discloses an excess of 1000 females over the males, and at Warringah the excess is 900. In Leichardt 4172 women enrolled, only 48 declining. In Annandiile 3j913 enrolled, while 252 refused to have their names recorded.
