A YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED.
Annie M. Banks, 23 years of age, residing with her parents at. .Hoxton. Park, near Liverpool. New South 1 Wales, was drowned on Boxing Pay, in McClure's waterhole, about threeqparters.of a mile from her parents* residence. She had. gone out withß four of her sisters, and another young; lady, with the intention of having a' bathe. When they reached the waterhole one of the girls lost her depth, and Annie, seeing the difficulty she? was in, went'to her assistance. • She' succeededto a certain extent in helping her sister, who was in trouble, but to her own disadvantage, for she was beginning to sink, when the cries of the'others the attention of three young fellows, who were passing. They attempted to rescue Miss Banks, but failed to do so. She sank from their reach, and when lifted from the waterhole. about tern minutes later, she was dead.
