FATAL RUN FOR A TRAIN.
The Parramatta District Coroner (Mr T. E. MacNevin, P.M.) held an in* quiry on December 24 concerning! the 'death of William Morris, which: occurred whilst he was travelling in a train between St Mary's and Parramatta on Monday evening last. Edward Dowling stated that, he was it* the train leaving Penrith at 6.35 p.m. on Monday. AtvSt Mary's decease* came running up to the station. Hβ was slightly late, and the train waited for him. He got into the compartment with witness. He was carrying a "small case of fruit, and! was perspiring freely. Deceased said, "My word, I had a run to catch: It.". When the train got to Wentworthville witness noticed deceased! had a. difficulty in breathing. Up. to this he had been in good spirits, laughing and talking, but his symp* toms now became alarming, and witness called the guard, who attemptedl to give the man some water. was, however, ; iinabjte 'tit. Deceased's last words were, as they came to Wentworthville, "It looks cloudy, but I hope it won't r§in, but! be fine for Christmas."
Other . evidence having been given, the Coroner found that the deceased! died .suddenly in a railway carriage, the cause of death being heart failure supervening \on over-exertion in, , hurrying to catch a train.
