WAIHI G.M. COMPANY.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
From further authentic information I hear that the quartz being broken out of the recently discovered reef running in a northerly direction on the footwall side of the Martini lode, shows some of the richest ©tone yet found in the Waihi Company's mine, and assay© made bear out this statement. The lode is also baid to be an extensive body of ore, not likely to pmt-i or run out. Althought it is difficult to ascertain the exact direction of the lode, it is approximately lying at right angles to .the Martha lode, and has a tendency to follow the northerly spur. Its underlie is opposite to -that of the other lodes in the Waihi mine, and dips into country on the Waihi Company's northern boundary. It was intersected in a crosscut going nor'-weet from No. 5 level, No. 1 shaft. The find is considered most imi>ortant, as proving that the country hitherto unexplored to the footwall tiide of the Martha lode is reef-bearing, and consequently opens us great possibilities for the adjacent claims on the northern boundary of the Waihi and Junction mdnes.
