MARKET REPORT.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd, weekly market Yards a good many were brought forward and disposed of under fair competition. Heavy draughts brought.from £26 to £35 7/6; medium do. £21 10/ to £29 W6, light harness horses, £7 15/ to £19 12/6, hacks, £6 15/ to £17. Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday there was a good yarding or dairy and store cattle, and a full supply of beef. Dairy cows sold from £4 10/ to £8 2/6; empty do., £3 10/ to £5; calves, £1 14/ to £2 9/. The beef pens were well filled with cattle of excellent quality, the Walkato consignments being especially well done. Bidding was brisk, although prices were barely up to last week's quotations. A good number of the larger bullocks were bought for the Sydney market Ox beef sold from 24/ to 30/, and cow 18/ to 21/ per lOOlbs. Fat bullocks sold from £8 2/6 to £15; fat cows, £5 10/ to £9 15/; stags, £8 17/6 to £13 121/6. A draft of steers from Messrs Heed Bros., 'Walrangi, averaged £14 10/10. Sheep: Were yarded in full numbers, and with the exception of those fit for shipping showed no Improvement in prices Fat wethers sold from 10/6 to 21/9; fat ewes, 8/6 to 23/6, the latter for an exceptionally well done line; hoggets, 7/6 to 18/6; ewes, in lamb, 7/6 to 9/9. Pigs: Were also in full supply, porkers making from 17/ to 35/; baconers, £2 2/6 to £3 10/; weaners, 7/6 to 9/9. At Tuakau on Wednesday there was an average muster for the time of the year. Dairy cows sold from £4 10/ to £7 17/6; other classes of stock at Newmarket rates.
Hides: We offered an average supply to keen competition, and sales were made as follows: Prime stout ox, 7d to 7|d; stout, sid to 6Sd; medium, 4|d to 5Jd; light, 4id to 4Jd; cow, average, 4id; picked stout, 4Jd to sd. Kip and calf wanted at 3id to 5Jd. Sheepskins: Large, 2/8 to 3/3; small and medium, 1/6 to 2/3.
Tallow:' Best rendered, 23/ to 24/; mutton, to 25/6.
Horse Hair: Tail to 1/3. Tails, 1/9 per dozen. Bones, 4/9 per cwt.
Wool: The demand for all well grown wools Is good. We have sold crossbred, 4d to 4id; Lincoln, 3Jd to 3Jd.
Maize: The market was firm on Monday at 4/2 for Sydney, but came back to A/1 on wharf after the Sydney orders were supplied. About 800 sacks were left behind, space not being available. The export demand is easier.
Oats: Are firm at 3/ on wharf for "B" grade, In wholesale lines.
Chaff: Firm at £5 15/ to £6 ex store.
Potatoes: The strong demand for export and heavy shipments already made have advanced the price to £5 10/ on Wharf.
Dairy Produce: The market is still bare of supplies, and any consignments of farmers' separator butter coming In find ready sale at good prices, say, lid to 1/1, according to quality.
