Further particulars of the fatal accident which occurred at Kawhia on Monday show that the, late Mr. Ben" jarnin Clarkson, who had been running, an oil launch on the harbour ai Kaw;hia for the last few months, was bringing her alongside the wharf at uight, and as a heavy wind was blow* ing difficulty was found in berthing her. Clarkson climbed on to <j§|*> deckhouse, but could not prevent the launch running under the wharf. He got crushed between the stringers and the deck-house, and received such injuries that he expired a ffw hours later.
