CAPSIZE OF A PUNT

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

PAEROA, this day.

Last evening a serious accident occurred at the Puke punt, which plies across the Ohinemuri River. The pvmtkeeper was taking six head of cat/tie across, and had just started, when the cattle rushed to one side of the punt, turning it completely over, the cattle being all drowned. Ludwig, the puntkeeper, had a narrow escape from going right under with the punt, and only reached the surface with the greatest difficulty.
