CORONATION CELEBRATIONS
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, this day
It is semi-officially notified that the Government intends next session to introduce a Bill similar to that passed last session, relating to the Royal
visit, for the purpose of validating expenditure up to a definite amount by local bodies in connection with the Coronation celebrations. The proposal is in response to a desire expressed by local bodies.
At a meeting of clergymen and Sunday-school teachers it was decided to give the children a festival on Coronation Day, funds to be raised by public subscription, and Sundayschool superintendents to take charge of the arrangements.
