THE TONGARIRO.

The s.s. Tongariro arrived from London Capetown and Hobart at 4 p.m. yestStoy, and came alongside the Queenstreet wharf this morning, to discharge. She has about 4000 tons of cargo for this port. Captain J. A. . Sutcliffe is in command, the other deck officers being-: Chief, Mr Cameron; second, Mr Porter; third, Mr Mead; fourth, Mr Smith; filth,- Mr Simmons. Dr. Carpenter is surgeon, Mr Landells chief engineer, and Mr Adcock steward in charge. The second officer reports: The Tongariro left London on February 28 at 4 p.m., and arrived at Plymouth on March 2 at 6.21 a.m. Embarked passengers and mails, and proceeded for Teneriffe at 9.40 a.m. the same date, which port was reached at 1.30 p.m. on March 7. Moderate winds and smooth seas were met with during the passage. After coaling left for Capetown at 9.50 p.m. the same date, and fine weather and light winds were again met with until the vessel's arrival on the 23rd ult. at 9.2S p.m. The voyage was resumed on March 24 at 4.30, p.m., and experienced exceptionally fine weather across the Southern Ocean, one westerly gale only being met with, with very high accompanying sea, after passing the SO deg. meridian. From thence to arrival at Hobart moderate north and north-west winds with damp weather to arrival at 11.44 a.m. on the 14th inst. The ship was berthed at Alexandra Wharf and discharged 150 tons general cargo; and the i Tongariro left for Auckland at 6.36 a.m. on the 15th. The North Cape was made at 11 p.m. on the 19th, anchor being dropped in Auckland harbour as above. The Tongariro commenced discharge this morning-.
