AUCKLAND ROWING CLUB.

The stump outrigger nice, for a trophy presented by Mr W. Benjamin, was rowed off on Saturday afternoon. The day's sport was very interesting, and there v. ere several good finishes. Messrs Whelan and Negus gave every satisfaction as judger and starter respectively. The first heat brought out three competitors, Kerr, Lovett and Wade, and was won easily by Kerr. Clark and Bradily contested the second heat, the former winning- by a length. In the third heat three started, Tucker, Cleal and Markwick. This was the best race of the day, and was won by six feet, the winner being A., Tucker, Cleal coming second. The fourth heat was won easily by Anderson. The' final was won by L. S. H. Clark (40sec), with W. Kerr second; the others wero all close up, and the finish was an exciting one.
