PICNICS.
«, . ( MESSRS _______ 'AND SONS' PICNIC. The first annual picnic of Messrs A. Clark and Sons' employees to Cowes' Bay, Waiheke, was held on Saturday, about 300 attending. The sports were evenly contested. The Newton brass band played a number of interesting* selections, and a concert was held on the return trip. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Clark and Sons Dor the entertainment. All joined in singing- "They are Jolly Good Fellows." The officials' at the sports were: Mr H. Clark, starter; Mr MeCosh Clark and Mr Smith, judges; Mr Lyon, Chairman Musical Committee; Mr Collins, Chairman General Committee; Miss Montgomery, hon. secretary General Committee- Results of sports' programme:—looyds Handicap, boys under 17: S.
