THE PACIFIC CABLE.
In a few days we may expect to be in telegraphic communication with Fiji by means of the Pacific cable — the first cable line laid to the South Sea Islands. Up to noon on SaturSay a distance of 345 miles from Norfolk Island had been laid by the cable ship Anglia. The total length of the cable route from Norfolk Island to Suva. Fiji, is 88. miles. The line runs from Doubtless Bay, New Zealand to Norfolk Island, and thence to Suva.
