PITT STREET CIRCUIT.
The circuit quarterly meeting was held last evening in the Pitt-street Methodist Church parlour. About 30 representatives attended, and the president, the Rev. C. H. Garland, occupied the chair. Membership returns showed 791 members, 157 Sundayschool teachers, and 1335 scholars. The balance-sheet showed an income of £290, an increase cf £25 for the quarter, thus reducing the circuit indebtedness to £55. A special retiring collection was authorised to be taken up s;i all the churches on behalf of the Helping Hand Mission. Mr T. W. Jones was appointed convener of the Home Mission Committee, and Mr T. McMaster of the Foreign Mission auxiliary. The chairman reported that £S*S had been raised .for foreign missions, and the Pitt-street Sundayschool had collected £50 for the Home Missions. Messrs. Caughey and S'hackelford were elected circuit. stewards, and Messrs. Winstone and Shaekelford were appointed delegates to the Dunedin Conference, Messrs. Wheeler and Parkinson being substitute representatives. Mr A. Peak was appointed circuit reporter. As this was the last meeting at which the Rev. W. Beckett would be present, a resolution of hearty appreciation of his two years' labour was passed unanimously. About an hour was spent in fellowship, and the meeting then adjourned until April.
