The s.s. Pakeha arrived from London direct shortly after midnight on Saturday night, and anchored in the powder ground, where she was inspected yesterday morning by Dr. Shurman, hea.!th officer, and admitted to pratique. The second officer reports that the Pakeha left London on June Ist, and proceeded to Halehaven, where explosives were shipped, and the voyage resumed the next day, the pilot being landed off Dover. Fine weather prevailed on the run down the Channel, and Las Palmas was passed on the 9th. The north east trades proved light, and the equator waa crossed on the 16th. Fresh south east trades, with moderate head seas, prevailed to lat. oO S., and passed, the Cape of Good Hope on the 2Sth. Tne run across the Southern Ocean was marked by very wet and stormy weather, successive northerly and north westerly gales with mountainous seas being experienced. Tasmania was passed on July 21, and Cape Maria Van Diemen at 1 a.m. on Saturday, the steamer having met with fine weather while crossing the Tasman Sea. The Pakeha on her present voyage, has steamed the long distance in shorter time than she has done before, the voyage having occupied 55 days 5 hours, notwithstanding that she had to contend against some very rough weather during a considerable Portion of the voyage. The steamer discharged her explosives into lighters to-day and will berth at the Queen-st. Wharl this evening.
