ANOTHER HUGE CORPORATION BLUNDER.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —I think the above heading1 is fitting for the letter I am writing, as T feel a huge blunder has been made by our City Council, and one they will regret before many years elapses. I refer to the leasing of choice sections in Ponsonby Road, at the corner of the Western Park and Hopetown-street, for the erection of stables. People having to pass the stables lower down the street, need not. be reminded of the smell, especially in the summer time, and to let one of the choicest building sections in our city, and abutting on a public, park, is, T consider, a grave mistake, and behoves all lovers of seeing our city beautified to take steps to avert this catastrophe. As the stables are just about to be commenced, now is the time to protest, or forever hold our peace. If you visit the, spot, the black fence surrounding the sections may have an awe-inspir-ing effect upon you, and stir you up in protest, against this huge blunder. I am sure the citizens do not know what is being done or they would be up and doing.—l am, etc,

PONEKE.
