(To the Editor.) Sir.-The criticism in Tuesday's "Star" of the Kcxnuera Musical bocietV'B concert is one which is hardly h accordance with the motto of your paper-'The good that we can do. Len were it a just criticism, surely it is a most discouraging one to the society and its able conductor. The society is a small one and must be commended for attempting really -rood works rather than wasting time over indifferent ones, even if its interpretation of them fall far* short of perfection, and if the representative of your paper did not approve of the society's effort on Monday evening, surely it waa unnecessary to take up half a column of your valuable space in fault finding an<l writing that which would giv« one who had not the pleasure of hearing the performance the most erroneous idea that the evening was a huge failure. 1 hope the conductor and members of the society, despite the "Star's" criticism, will rest assured that last Monday's performance gave much pleasure to many, and that their ardour will not be damped by the cold water thrown upon this their first effort of the sear son.-I am, etc.,
