THE ORGAN IN THE CHORAL HALL.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Permit me to express regret; that promoters of concerts in the Choral Hall should s 0 rarely make use of the noble organ in that building. I attended the excellent song recital in the hall thi.s week given by Mr and Mrs Hodges, but was much disappointed to se« the line instrument there standing unused and apparently unappreciated. I am sure there must have been more than a few in the audience who longed, as 1 did, for some of the exalting strains that "one need fathom not, but only hear and feel." Would it not be practicable for Dr. Thomas, Mr Towsey, Mr Hunt or others of our capable organists to give recitals once :t week in the summer, beginning at 5.15 p.m. and lasting for three-quarters of an hour, so that business people would bo. able to attend conveniently? But if not, when concerts are held where the means of such gratification are at hand, I think some provision should be made for lovers of the "King of instruments." —1 am, etc.,

H. W. YOUNG
