DUNEDIN, this day,
The weather was fine but the ground heavy for Saturday afternoon's matches. The meeting of Kaikorai and Alhambra for the second time this season attracted over 3000 spectators to the Carisbrook Ground. Alhambra turned the tables on their opponents, winning by six points to nil. The game was wholly a forward one, the red and black vanguard proving- its superiority in this department of the game. With the exception of the first two minutes in the first spell and five minutes in the second half the Kaikorai were on the defensive. The win was very popular, Alhambra being heartily cheered on coming off the field.
The University effected a slight surprise by defeating Southern by four points (a potted goal) to nil. Pirates beat Union by six to nil, and ZingariRichmond beat Dunedin by 13 to 3. Kaikorai now lead Alhambra by one point for the championship.
