THE AUCKLAND NATIVE RIFLES.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —May I ask a space in your valuable paper? As a member of the No. j Company Auckland Native Rifles selected to pay honour to the visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York at Christchurch, I wish in gratitude to tender my thanks to the Government and officers iv charge for the manner in which we were treated throughout our journey. 1 must say there was nothing left undone to ensure our comfort, and every convenience for the troops, by the officers and noncommissioned officers <5f our contingent, that is not worthy of the highest praise. I consider I am in duty bound to refer to this, as we had a most enjoyable trip.—l am, etc.,

A BER REUBEN. No. 1 Auckland Natives.
