AMUSEMENTS.

DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY,

Another very entertaining- change i°f programme wa.s presented at the I City Hall on Saturday evening by Mr Dix'a Gaiety Company. Miss Irene Franklin made her farewell appearance, and was very warmly received and several times encored. Little Alma Gray sang and danced exceedingly well, and was loudly encored for her songs "Dear Mr Pawnshop Man" and- "The Lonesome Coon." The Tylers gave a very clever gymnastic performance, introducing- for the first time in the colony a daring "Flight Through Mid-air," performed with double trapezes suspended over the body of the hall. Little Bert was thrown through the air by one of the gymnasts and deftly caught by the other. Messrs Pope and Sayles, the coloured comedians, were as laug-hable as usual. Their last week in Auckland is announced. The rest of the performers were warmly greeted and did exceedingly well. This evening Miss Emmie Owen, a charming soubrette singer and dancer from the Savoy Theatre, London, will make her first appearance here.
