THE OPERA HOUSE.
The Josephine Stanton Opera Company produced "The Fencing Master" for the last time last evening. The piece went well throughout, and was much enjoyed by all present. To-night Auber's romantic opera, "Fra Diavolo," will be put on. 'The catchy and tuneful melodies have made it a world-wide favourite. Miss Stanton, as Zerlina, has a congenial part, and Mr Hallam is also fitted in his part, the title role. An American paper, speaking of the production, says:—"Miss Stanton, as Zerlina, was at-her very best, and Miss Stanton's best is something always worth while. The part is well suited to her abilities, and -her work in the second act especially was deserving of considerable praise. She was in excellent voice, and received several hearty encores." "Said Pasha," an, Oriental opera, j with the scene laid iv India, replaces i"Fra" on Thursday.
